OUR EXHIBITS:
The majority of our projects consist of interactive artwork and exhibits that are designed and built by outside artists and designers working closely with our creative team and hospital staff. Our Fun-Art Initiatives, such as our Tile Project and gaming collages, are constructed by our own volunteers, with input from members of the community of all ages, who come together to create priceless and engaging artwork for the walls of children's hospitals.
Following are several of the hands-on/minds-on exhibits and artwork we have installed at Schneider Children's Hospital in New Hyde Park, New York. .
INTERACTIVE ARTWORK & EXHIBITS:
Discover the Smile's creative team, worked closely with the artists and designers at Protozone Inc. to design the interactive exhibits and artwork described here. Protozone Inc. is an interactive software exhibit design studio whose partners, Al Jarnow, a founder of the Long Island Children’s Museum, and Jim Metcalfe, a local designer, work with teams of artists, builders and designers to create engaging, interactive exhibits and software for installation in various institutions such as museums, hospitals and libraries.

Schneider Children's Hospital –
Lobby Redesign & Renovation Project
We are currently working on plans with the administration of Schneider Children's Hospital and its architects on a complete renovation and redesign of the entry, lobby and atrium areas of the Hospital. While the construction is a few years away, the scope of our portion of this project promises to be both challenging and exciting. The renovations, which include enclosing the entire outside atrium, will bring warmth and magic to this high-traffic area. We will continue to keep you updated on this important project.
