SANDCASTLE MURAL . A 45-foot long panoramic photomural of sandcastles on a beach wraps around the walls of the Children’s Heart Center at Schneider Children’s Hospital. The mural is a composite of dozens of elements, built by Al Jarnow during the summer of 2004 at Green Hill, Fire Island. The castles are fantasiesdrawn from a wide variety of architectural styles. An associated software program software program housed in a Computer Kiosk shows photos of other castle experiments along with historical images related to the structures. Our hope is that waiting children and their families will be temporarily transported to a world of beauty and serenity on a warm summer day.
