SOLAR MOBILE . Planets swirl around the sun and moons swirl around the planets in a constant dance at the juncture of the Atrium hallway and the Space Walk corridor connecting Schneider Children’s Hospital to Long Island Jewish Hospital. The colorful orbiting planets and moons of this Solar Mobile are NASA photographs, digitally warped into spheres and mounted to lightweight balls, counterweighted for balance on carbon fiber rods extending outward from the sun. Our hope is that families can reflect on the dynamic beauty and mystery of the universe.
